Objectives :

The aim of that WP is to develop observational studies to better characterize human exposure and exposome, by collecting personal environmental samples, data, and information from participating volunteers in their everyday environments, as they go about their normal activities. Actions can include the identification of sources, selection of sentinel populations, highest-exposed individuals, activities and behaviors that yield exposures, the magnitude and frequency of exposure, exposure–response relationships. These types of data are necessary to improve the results of epidemiologic studies and uncertainties in risk assessment. This WP gives the opportunity so share experience with epidemiologists. RECOTOX could follow the example of the study PÉLAGIE (Perturbateurs endocriniens : Étude Longitudinale sur les Anomalies de la Grossesse, l’Infertilité et l’Enfance), managed by Inserm. It is intended to allow the development of approaches in environmental epidemiology, or, more specifically, eco-epidemiology.
